Netball World Cup: England’s Beth Cobden to miss tournament with knee injury

England’s Beth Cobden has suffered a serious knee ligament injury and will miss July’s netball world cup.

The defender ruptured her ACL playing for the Adelaide thunderbirds in their Suncorp super Netball game on Saturday.

Cobden, 26, who signed for the Australian outfit in the off-season and won commonwealth gold with the roses last year, will undergo surgery.

While thunderbirds head Coach Tania Obst said Cobden “will be missed” in the thunderbirds dress this season.
